Voice typing and dyslexia

If spelling is the slow part, dictating the sentence and then reading it back can be easier than typing every word. OSSFlow pastes that text on Android. It is not a dyslexia treatment, a diagnosis, or teaching software.

What the app will and will not do

You speak. A transcription model writes the words. Optional cleanup removes fillers and can follow a custom instruction, including a dialect such as British English. A personal dictionary holds spellings you want kept, such as a name. None of that is therapy, and none of it removes the need to read the result before you send it.

The dictionary is a spelling hint sent with the audio, and again with the transcript if cleanup is on. It is not a translation aid and it is not a full spelling curriculum. The privacy page says those terms leave the phone with the request.

A practical way to dictate

  1. Install OSSFlow with the setup guide and add a key.
  2. Put names and unusual spellings in the personal dictionary.
  3. Focus the field, tap the bubble, and speak in ordinary phrases.
  4. Tap the bubble again and read the text aloud or on screen before you send it.
  5. If a word is wrong, fix that word. Do not assume the next sentence will repeat the fix unless it is in the dictionary.

Other tools, briefly

A keyboard with on-device dictation, such as Gboard on a supported phone, never sends the audio to a key you manage. OSSFlow does send audio to the provider you chose. Pick the one that matches the privacy you want. Voice Access is the better fit when you also need spoken commands to move around the phone.

Questions

Will OSSFlow fix dyslexia?
No. Dictation changes how you enter text. It is not a treatment and it does not diagnose anything.
Does cleanup correct every spelling?
No. It returns the text you meant, with fillers taken out, and it can follow a custom instruction. You still need to read the draft. A dictionary helps with words you add. It does not know every word.
Can I use this in school work?
You can dictate into a notes or essay field the same way as any other field. Whether a course allows dictation is the school's rule, not this app's. OSSFlow does not record a lecture.
Does the app store a medical profile?
No. There is no account. History and the dictionary stay on the phone. Do not put medical notes into a custom instruction if you do not want them sent to the cleanup provider.
